Thirsa May Carpenter 99, fondly known as "Skeeter" passed away December 19, 2016. She was born April 17, 1917 in Marshfield, OR, to George Bacon and Rhoda Ellen (Clark) Bacon. Skeeter grew up in Deer Park, WA with an oldest brother Norman,
2 older sisters ,Oma and Wanda and a twin brother Stanley. She often recounted stories of fishing in the creek and swimming in the old mill pond near their homestead.
She married Sumner Brooks Carpenter on May 31, 1951. They were married 31 fun-filled, adventurous years. Some of her favorite memories were vacationing in the family travel trailer & visiting relatives. Skeeter worked in banking and was a home-maker for most of her life. In her mid 60's she discovered an artistic flair for painting birds on various wood projects, signed TMC. Her family enjoyed getting together for breakfast with her, on Saturday mornings, at JB's Meridian, ID. In her 90's she still worked jumble puzzles, jigsaws and pencil colorings.

Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her 6 year old grandson, Bobby and her husband, Brooks, Skeeter has lived the last 20 plus years with an optimistic outlook on life that can only be contributed to a strong faith in God and His assurance that He will never leave or forsake us.

Skeeter is survived by her son Robert (wife Nedra) Carpenter and their son, John (wife Jennifer) Carpenter and their 7 children: Jerrod, Kendra, Blaine, Kayla, Jada and Lakin along with a great, great granddaughter, Everly.
Also surviving are daughter Ann (husband Steve)Faught from Boise.
Skeeter's grandson, Will Faught and granddaughter, Robyn (husband Steve) Osborn along with great grand baby, Asher, will miss her very much, as will her many cherished nieces and nephews.
