Marcie was born on November 14, 1940 in Boise, Idaho. She was the oldest daughter to her parents Simon & Rosario Arana. Marcie attended the Nampa schools where she maintained lifelong friendships. Marcie's parents owned a farm on Southwest Boise and then later owned the Basque Boarding House in Nampa, growing up in the boarding house taught Marcie the traditional ways of the Basque cooking and the culture she was so proud to be a part of. Marcie learned to play the accordion and always filled her home with the Basque music and dance. Marcie had a great love for her friends and family, she could walk into a room of strangers and leave with many friends. She truly enjoyed cooking all her life and always had room at her table for friends. Marcie enjoyed the simpler things in life and was always eager to spend time with her family. She was a gift to us and will live in our hearts forever.
Rose and Julie want to thank Bob and Laurie for taking care of mom with love and tenderness for the last couple of years, the two of you meant so very much to mom and her everyday life. The family would like to also thank Harrison Hope and Valley View Nursing Facility for showing mom love and respect in her final hours of life.
