George Sherman Weick, September 22, 1946- August 12, 2016, a man who lived his life to the fullest until he was diagnosed with Dementia. Born in Michigan, grew up in Boise Idaho.
He joined the Army¬-Special Forces sending him to Berlin Germany. One glance at Brigitte, he met his one and only soul mate. George was an amazing and supportive father; he always put his family first. George loved playing on computers and was thrilled spending his career doing what he loved, 35 years at Morrison Knudson now URS. He was amazed being paid for a job he absolutely loved and had the opportunity working in South America to Europe, taking him and Brigitte all over the world. They spent their years traveling the world and after retirement they cruised the seven seas. Anyone who knew George always enjoyed his company and conversation. He was loved by all who knew him. George was very active from skydiving, skiing, bike riding to swimming but also loved reading; there wasn't a book he didn't read. In life George was loved dearly and in death he will be loved even more.
Preceding his death were his parents, Dr. George & Catherine Weick. George is survived by his wife Brigitte, his 3 children; Andrea Grant & family, Thomas Weick & Family, Christina Weick & family, his two siblings, David Weick, Ellen Holm & family.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the nursing staff at Saint Alphonsus hospital on the 5th Floor (south tower) for their compassion and excellent care for George.
A celebration of life will be organized by the family. The family requests all donations are made to the Alzheimer's Foundation in hope to find a cure so this disease does not take any loved ones like our George.
