Tribute & Message From The Family

David Lowell O'Dell, 59 of Boise, Idaho died peacefully at home on Saturday December 31, 2016 after a short but heroic battle with cancer. Funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 9th at 12:00 pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home with a Visitation on Sunday, January 8, 2017 between 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
David was born on January 24, 1957 in Ontario, Oregon. He attended grade school in Payette, ID and junior high and high school in the Seattle Washington area. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Federal Way after which he studied Political Science at Seattle Pacific University. He married Vicki Jennings in 1977 and together they had a daughter Katrina in 1978 and a son David Jr. in 1979. They later divorced.
David had an entrepreneurial spirit and after working as a crane operator, shoe salesman, and a manager at Rainier State School for the Disabled he finally decided to start his own business. He opened a coffee stand and named it Espresso Yoself. At the same time he owned a farm and raised pigs, chickens and horses. Several years after moving back to Idaho he embarked on his real estate career with Keller Williams Realty Boise. While at Keller Williams David became an amazing ambassador for their culture by being a member of the Agent Leadership Council (ALC). As a member of the ALC David organized and participated in many of Keller Williams' charitable events including raising money for the Women's and Children's Alliance, Paint the Town and Red Day as well as assisting many fellow agents in their time of need through his work with the KW Cares charity. One of his proudest accomplishments was when he was awarded the Darleen Manning Humanitarian Award by the Boise Regional Realtors in 2014.
David was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved to camp and hike as well as golf. He enjoyed pretty much anything outdoors even if it was just working in the garden. Most of all David loved his family. He was happiest when he was helping others and making a difference in people's lives. David was a soft spoken gentle man who was kind, selfless, loving, caring and considerate. He was truly one in a million and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
David is survived by his fiancÚ Stephanie Scott and her daughter, Danielle Scott of Boise, his daughter Katrina Anderson and her husband Justin of Everett, Washington, his son David O'Dell Jr. of Burien, Washington. His 7 grandchildren, Jayden, Ainsley, Ashlyn, Makayla, Alicia, Bradon, Ryan and Caleb. He is also survived by 5 siblings, Kathy McCann and her husband Craig, Linda Tams, Donald O'Dell and his wife Lori, Anita Sagon and her husband Ben, Debra O'Dell and 6 nieces and nephew's.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father Donald O'Dell in 1993 and his mother Lois Cameron in 2001.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of David's dear friends at Keller Williams Realty for their kindness and support through this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
